Light Prism Website

Overview

Light Prism is a serious games developer startup that creates virtual reality games to let players experience various situations such as social injustices, influential people’s day-to-day life, and many other unique stories. I was tasked by them to redesign their company website.

Requirements from Client

I spoke with the client to gather more information about the company and products, as well as to understand who is this website targeted towards. Below are some requirements and features from the client

​

  • Display all team members

  • Display information about our products/games

  • Improve the visual design of the website

Problem

After playing around with the previous website and recording my observations, I discovered some issues.

​

  • Does not provide information about the products/games

  • Website colours do not work well and reflect the brand 

  • Website layout works on mobile but not on desktop.

User Persona

The website is mainly used to target investors and customers. I decided to create a user persona of these two users to better understand them to be able to design a website that will better serve them.

Low-Fidelity Prototyping

Mid-Fidelity Prototype

The mid-fidelity prototype does not include any color or design elements. The purpose is to focus on the interactions and features of the website

High-Fidelity Prototype

I added colour and design elements for the high-fidelity prototype. There are many changes and additional information from the old website as shown below.

Style Guide

Purple represents creativity and inspiration as light prisms goal is to inspire and educate people. I used gradients to highlight the colorfulness shown in light that passes through prisms

Hero Section

I created a minimalistic design for the hero section with a button that scrolls to the games section.

I included all the games on the home page to reduce the time required to scroll and find the games that catch the user's interest.

Game Infomation

I added game pages for investors and clients to understand more about the product. I chose a clean and simple layout to make the words more readable and to help teachers and principals understand the value of the game for their students.

About Us

I added the company mission, the definition of serious games, and the reasons for virtual reality to educate investors and clients about our company's beliefs and the importance of virtual reality.

I added a company timeline to show the investors the constant progression and innovation of the company.

Meet Our Team

I decided to display all the team member side by side to show that the team is close-knitted. As the website is targeted towards investors, I provided LinkedIn profiles and a description of each of the team members to help investors understand more about the team.

Contact Page

I added the company's email and phone number together with the contact form for investors, clients, and collaborators to reach out.

Footer

I kept the footer simple by including the social media links and discarding all of the other information about the company, which can be found on the other pages.

Next Steps

The high-fidelity prototype is currently being reviewed by Light Prism. Once the design is finalized, I will move on to creating a WordPress website.
